On Saturday, May 22, 2004 the members from four
fraternities in Orange County (Little Portion, Irvine; St. Francis, Huntington
Beach,; Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Habra; and St. Maximillian Kolbe, Los
Alamitos) gathered at Isaiah House (Catholic Worker) in Santa Ana to share a
meal with some of the homeless of Santa Ana. The Korean fraternity, St.
Francis, was unable to attend but the were there with us in spirit and they
contributed $100 toward the purchase of paper goods.
Approximately 25 Secular Franciscans helped prepare and serve barbequed
hamburgers & hotdogs, salads, vegetables, and desserts to 250
brothers and sisters, including lots of children who do not have access to
food or shelter on a regular basis.
